Please have a workshop or piece of your own content that you want to create or redesign. Applying ideas directly to your own content does 2 things:

It helps embed your learning.
You leave with a completed piece of content ready to go.

Below is a tab for each day we will be working together. It contains the handouts you'll need during your training, so please have these available - either printed or in PowerPoint at the start of each episode.

27 July - Priority Matrix

Separating The Need-To-Know Content From The Nice-To-Know Content

First, let’s determine if training is really going to be the solution to an identified performance gap.
Assuming that training is part of the answer, let’s write what the training should achieve from an organisational perspective.
Because we typically try to add EVERYTHING into the training, now’s the time to really separate the need-to-know from the nice-to-know.

How To Write Behavioural Based Objective

Before you start designing your content, you need to be clear on what you want learners to be able to do. This is where behavioural based objectives come in. They're simple to write, guide your training. and help keep it on track – for you and your learners.

Your Task

Write the objectives for your own module(s) (identified via the Priority Matrix).
Convert your objectives into either learner What's In It For Me (WIIFM's) and/or learner challenges.

Here you'll start using the Learning Cycle – a simple structure that works whether you're designing a digital module, a live virtual module, a face-to-face module, or anything in between.
It's your go-to tool for making sure that your learners can DO what your objective states.

When we design Live Virtual Training, we should 'add' interaction, but 'design for collaboration'.
